Spotted Hyena

Fact: They have coarse sandy coat with black or brown spots covering the body. The front legs are longer than the back and their feet have four digits with non retractable claws.

Habitat: Dry, open, semi desert, savannah and open woodlands.

Threats: Hunted and poisoned as pests.

Range: Sub-Saharan Africa.

Additional information: Hyenas have excellent sight and hearing. They are active hunters and will track down prey walking up to 80km, in a round trip.
